Jeannette Waax, Cluster Manager Fiber To the Home, was recently invited to Malta to speak about the Fiber Optic Valley methods for innovation and business development within fiber optics.
The seminar was held at the STC Training Centre, a campus for management students and attracted a lot of attention, for example Maltese media.
The Maltese government recently decided on a national vision to be obtained by 2015. The island should become a Mediterranean centre for information technology and a big roll-out of fiber to the home will be carried out.’
Through Jeannette’s visit to Malta a number of companies in Fiber Optic Valley’s business network has been noticed by the government’s advisory group. The Swedish companies will now have the opportunity to bid for contracts on the new fiber infrastructure in Malta.
